Amram took Jochebed his father’s sister to himself as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. The years of the life of Amram were one hundred thirty-seven years.


The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.


“At that time Moses was born, and he was extraordinary in God’s sight. For three months, he was nurtured in his father’s home,


for the precious things of the earth and its fullness, the good will of him who lived in the bush. Let this come on the head of Joseph, on the crown of the head of him who was separated from his brothers.


By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that he was an extraordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.


He sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with a handsome face and good appearance. YHWH said, “Arise! Anoint him, for this is he.”
