I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.


YHWH has blessed my master greatly. He has become great. YHWH has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male servants and female servants, and camels and donkeys.


Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year one hundred times what he planted. YHWH blessed him.


Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that YHWH has blessed me for your sake.”


His master saw that YHWH was with him, and that YHWH made all that he did prosper in his hand.


From the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, YHWH blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake. YHWH’s blessing was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.


“Yes, forty years you sustained them in the wilderness. They lacked nothing. Their clothes didn’t grow old, and their feet didn’t swell.


But ʜᴇ knows the way that I take. When ʜᴇ has tried me, I will come out like gold.


For YHWH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.


They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.


I will be glad and rejoice in your lovingkindness, for you have seen my affliction. You have known my soul in adversities.


Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands.


The children of Israel ate the manna for forty years until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.


“Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘YHWH says, “I remember for you the kindness of your youth, your love as a bride, how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.


I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.


Also I brought y’all up out of the land of Egypt and led y’all forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.


YHWH spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,


Y’all’s children will be wanderers in the wilderness for forty years, and they will bear the penalty of y’all’s prostitution until y’all’s corpses are consumed in the wilderness.


According to the number of the days y’all spied in the land, forty days, for every day, y’all will bear y’all’s iniquities for a year, forty years. Then y’all will know my opposition.’


God said to Balaam, “You must not go with them. You must not curse the people, for they are blessed.”


YHWH’s anger burned against Israel, and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation who had done evil in YHWH’s sight was consumed.


Then he said to them, “When I sent y’all out without money belt, bag, or sandals, did y’all lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered.


My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.


We traveled from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which y’all saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as YHWH our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.


So y’all stayed in Kadesh many days, for those days y’all stayed.


The time from when we travelled from Kadesh Barnea until we came to Zered Valley was thirty-eight years, until the entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as YHWH had sworn to them.


Y’all may purchase food to eat from them with silver, and buy water to drink.’”


But to this day YHWH has not given y’all a heart to know, eyes to see, or ears to hear.


I have led y’all forty years in the wilderness. Y’all’s clothes have not grown old on y’all, and your sandal has not grown old on your foot.


For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to YHWH’s voice. YHWH swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which YHWH swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
