May your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My Name will be there,’ so that you may hear the prayer that your servant prays toward this place.


Incline your ear, YHWH, and hear. Open your eyes, YHWH, and see. Hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to defy the living God.


I love YHWH, because ʜᴇ listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.


YHWH, remember your tender mercies and your lovingkindness, for they are from old times.


YHWH said, “I have seen-seen the misery of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their slave drivers, for I know their sorrows.


Turn your ear, YHWH, and hear. Open your eyes, YHWH, and see. Hear all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the living God.


everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made.’”


Will you hold yourself back for these things, YHWH? Will you keep silent and punish us very severely?


For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name’s sake, YHWH; for our rebellions are many. We have sinned against you.


Why should you be like a dumbfounded person, like a warrior who can’t save? Yet you, YHWH, are in the middle of us, and we are called by your name. Don’t leave us.


Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by your name, YHWH, God of Armies.


Look! I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that is called by my name, and y’all will go unpunished? Y’all will not be unpunished, for I will call down a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says YHWH Almighty.”’


It may be they will present their petition before YHWH, and will each return from their evil way. Gor YHWH has pronounced great anger and wrath against this people.”


Now please hear, my lord the king: please let my petition come before you, that you not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, or I will die there.”


“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘Lord YHWH says: “I am not doing this for y’all’s sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which y’all have profaned among the nations where y’all have gone.


I am not doing this for y’all’s sake,” says Lord YHWH. “Let this be known to y’all. Be ashamed and embarrassed for your* ways, house of Israel.”


“Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as it is today; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.


“So they will place my name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
