When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. Now terror and great darkness fell on him.


In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,


The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him speaking to me.


Suddenly, one in the likeness of the children of humanity touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, “My lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows have overtaken me, and I retain no strength.


Then one like the appearance of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me.


So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was frightened, and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of humanity, for the vision belongs to the time of the end.”


I, Daniel, fainted, and was sick for some days. Then I rose up and did the king’s business. I wondered at the vision, but no one understood it.


The angel who talked with me came again and roused me, like someone awakened from sleep.


When he got up from prayer, he went to the disciples and found them sleeping, exhausted from their sorrow.


Now Peter his companions were overcome with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men standing with him.


And now because of the hope in God’s promise to our ancestors, I stand on trial today.


When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though I were dead. He laid his right hand on me, saying, “Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last,
