Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives. In their death, they were not divided. They were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions.


How much less a human, who is a worm, and the son of man, who is a worm!”


Put terror in them, YHWH. Let the nations know that they are only mortal humans. Selah.


He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.


Look! He will advances like the clouds, and his chariots will be as the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined.


A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations. He is on his way. He has left his place to make your land desolate. Your cities be laid waste, without inhabitant.


This is what YHWH says: “Look! He will fly as an eagle, and will spread out his wings against Moab.


“Look, he will come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it. For who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who will stand before me?”

Wherever the children of men dwell, he has given the animals of the field and the birds of the sky into your hand, and has made you rule over them all. You are the head of gold.


At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.


As for the rest of the animals, their dominion was taken away; yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.


“Suddenly, there was another animal, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth. They said this to it: ‘Arise! Devour much flesh!’


For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures will gather.


YHWH will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies: a nation whose language you will not understand,


The beast that I saw resembled a leopard, and his feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
