Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”


Bel bows down. Nebo stoops. Their idols are carried by beasts and cattle. The images y’all carried around are heavy loads, a burden for the weary.


Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?”


“Y’all are to announce and proclaim among the nations, lifting up a banner, proclaiming and not concealing; Y’all are to say, ‘Babylon has been taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed! Her images are disappointed. Her idols are dismayed.’


I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel; and it will produce boughs, and bear fruit, and be a good cedar. Birds of every kind will dwell in the shade of its branches.


The prince of the eunuchs gave names to them: to Daniel he gave the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.


It is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other who can show it before the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”


The king answered Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”


Nebuchadnezzar answered them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that y’all don’t serve my gods and you don’t worship the golden image which I have set up?


“This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. You, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation. But you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”


“Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.


I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you and that light, understanding, and excellent wisdom are found in you.
