This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God.”


Hᴇ pours contempt on princes, and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.


Hᴇ has established them forever and ever. Hᴇ has made a decree that will not pass away.


I will tell of the decree: YHWH said to me, “You are my son. Today I have begotten you.


By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of YHWH men depart from evil.


Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.


YHWH Almighty has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.


“‘The sentence is by the decree of the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowest of men.’


Then Daniel (whose name was also Belteshazzar), was stricken mute for a while, and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered, “Belteshazzar, don’t let the dream or the interpretation, trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered, “My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation to your adversaries.


It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me.
