12 Its leaves were beautiful, and it had much fruit, and in it was food for all. The animals of the field had shade under it, and the birds of the sky lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

Hᴇ takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.


“For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, that the tender branch of it will not cease.


yet through the scent of water it will bud, and sprout boughs like a plant.


The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of YHWH, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.


I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel; and it will produce boughs, and bear fruit, and be a good cedar. Birds of every kind will dwell in the shade of its branches.


They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, who lived under his shadow in the middle of the nations.


He cried aloud and said this: ‘Y’all must cut down the tree, and cut off its branches! Y’all must shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit! Let the animals get away from under it and the birds from its branches.


It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”


“But of that day or that hour no one knows—not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.


yet when it is sown, grows up and becomes greater than all the garden plans, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell under its shade.”


It is like a mustard seed which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the wild birds nested in its branches.”
