For YHWH, the God of Israel, says concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are broken down to make a defense against the mounds and against the sword:


“Y’all are to go through her vineyards, and destroy them. But y’all must not completely destroy them. Take away her branches, for they are not YHWH’s.


In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem. They encamped against it and built siege works all around it.


For YHWH Almighty said, “Y’all must cut down trees and build siege ramps against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited. She is filled with oppression within herself.


Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company won’t help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts to cut off many persons.


Lay siege against it, build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it. Also set camps against it and plant battering rams against it all around.


“In those times many will stand up against the king of the south. Also the children of the violent among your people will lift themselves up to establish the vision, but they will fall.


At the end of years they will join themselves together; and the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make an agreement, but she will not retain the strength of her arm. He will also not stand, nor will his arm; but she will be given up, with those who brought her, and he who became the father of her, and he who strengthened her in those times.


I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to stand before him; but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. There was no one who could deliver the ram out of his hand.


No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.
