You have struck-struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home. Why should you meddle and bring calamity, such that you and Judah both fall?”


You say to yourself that you have struck Edom; and your heart lifts you up to boast. Now stay at home. Why should you meddle with trouble, that you should fall, even you and Judah with you?’”


But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly and he trespassed against YHWH his God, for he went into the temple of YHWH to burn incense on the altar of incense.


Bu because his heart was proud, Hezekiah did not return gratefulness for the benefit done for him. Therefore there was wrath on him, Judah, and Jerusalem.


Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.

“The king of the south will be moved with anger and will come out and fight with him, even with the king of the north. He will send out a great multitude, and the multitude will be given into his hand.


The king of the north will return, and will send out a multitude greater than the former. He will come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with abundant supplies.


but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.


Through his policy he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand. He will magnify himself in his heart, and he will destroy many in their security. He will also stand up against the prince of princes, but he will be broken without human hands.


then your heart might be lifted up in pride and you forget YHWH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.


not a new convert, so that they don’t come conceited and fall into the same condemnation as the devil.


Likewise, y’all who are younger, be subject to the elders. All y’all should clothe yourselves in humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
