Then Laban and Bethuel answered, “The thing proceeds from YHWH. We can’t speak to you bad or good.


In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. YHWH said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”


‘YHWH says, “Y’all must not go up or fight against your* brothers, the children of Israel. Each of y’all are to return home, for this is from me.”’” So they listened to the word of YHWH, and returned and went their way, according to the word of YHWH.


Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!


When ʜᴇ remains quiet, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? Hᴇ is over a nation or a man alike,


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against YHWH.


Yes, from this day, I am ʜᴇ. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand. I will work, and who can reverse it?”


Woe to the one who strives with their Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Does the clay ask the one who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or does your work say, ‘He has no hands?’


I declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done. I say: My counsel will stand, and I will do all that I please.


All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can stop his hand, or ask him, “What are you doing?”


And I tell you that you are Peter. Upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.


because I will give y’all such words and wisdom that all y’all’s adversaries will not be able to resist or refute.


So if God gave them the same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who am I to try to hinder God?”


There was a great uproar, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees rose up and began to argue, “We find no evil in this man. What if a spirit or angel has spoken to him?”


Yet they weren’t able to stand up against the wisdom and the Spirit by whom he spoke.


“Y’all stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! Y’all are always resisting the Holy Spirit, just like your* ancestors did.


He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!


because the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.


Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
