David went out to meet them and said to them, “If y’all have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with y’all. But if y’all have come to betray me to my enemies, even though there is no wrong on my hands, may the God of our ancestors see this and rebuke it.”


YHWH, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;


Blessed be YHWH, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king’s heart, to beautify the house of YHWH which is in Jerusalem;


as ʜᴇ spoke to our ancestors, to Abraham and his offspring forever.”

We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also killed him by hanging him on a tree.
