Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of YHWH Almighty will perform this.


Judas went away and talked with the chief priests and officers of temple guard about how he might deliver Jesus to them.


Jesus said to the chief priests, officers of the temple guard, and elders, who had come against him, “Have y’all come out with swords and clubs as if I were an outlaw?


So the Pharisees said so one another, “Don’t y’all see that you’ve accomplished nothing? Look, the world has gone after him.”


They were all astounded and nonplussed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”


While Peter and John were speaking to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple guard, and the Sadducees came up to them.


After threatening them again, they let them go because they found no way to punish them while all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.


“We found the prison locked securely, and the guards standing at the doors. But when we opened them, we found no one inside!”


Then someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple, teaching the people.”


So the captain went with the officers and brought the apostles, not using any force because they were afraid that the people would stone them.
