James the son of Zebedee, and John, the brother of James (he called them Boanerges, which means, “sons of thunder”),


They did this, sending their aid to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.


Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their deacon-work, taking with them John, also called Mark.


Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.


After the reading of the law and the prophets, the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if y’all have any word of exhortation for the people, y’all can speak.”


While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Y’all must set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”


So being sent out by the Holy Spirit they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.


Then the whole group became silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul describe the signs and wonders God had done among the ethnic groups through them.


This became a major argument and debate between them and Paul and Barnabas. So Paul, Barnabas, and some others of them were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.


Barnabas wanted to take John (also called Mark) with them too,


They had such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one another. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus,


Some of the disciples from Caesarea also came with us and brought us to Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we would stay.


After we sighted Cyprus on the left side of the ship, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre, since the ship was to unload its cargo there.


We put out to sea from there and sailed under the shelter of Cyprus, because the winds were against us.


But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He recounted how Saul had seen the Lord on the road, and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.


But the human who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort.


Or do only Barnabas and I lack the right to not work?


Then after fourteen years, I went up to Jerusalem again with Barnabas, taking along Titus also.


And the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.


When they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the ethnic groups, and they to the circumcised.


Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets y’all, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (y’all received instructions about him: if he comes to y’all, receive him);
