After two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, he left Paul in prison.


I found that he had done nothing worthy of death, but because he appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him.


When they heard my case, they wanted to set me free, because there was no reason to give me the death penalty.


But the Jews objected, so I was compelled to appeal to Caesar, though I don’t have a charge to bring against my own ethnic group.


But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the ethnic groups, the kings, and the children of Israel.
