I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.


Because I have called, and y’all have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention.


He who answers before he hears, that is folly and shame to him.


He who pleads his cause first seems right— until another comes and questions him.


See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your portion, and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way.


“Does our law judge a man unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?”


“Brothers and fathers, listen now to my defense before y’all.”


“I answered them that it is not the custom of the Romans to hand over a human before the accused has met the accusers face to face and had opportunity to make a defense against the charges.


For it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, without specifying the charges against him.”


“King Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate today that it is before you that I am about to make my defense against all the accusations of the Jews,


But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the ethnic groups, the kings, and the children of Israel.


But about Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
