Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Y’all bring her out between the ranks and kill anyone who follows her with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t let her be slain in the house of YHWH.”


When King Herod heard this, he was stirred up, and all Jerusalem with him.


When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”


They got up and drove him out of the city, leading him to the edge of the hill on which their city was built, in order to throw him off the cliff.


Then the whole city was filled with the uproar, and they rushed into the theater with one mind, dragging along Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia.


For this reason some of the Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me.


I have been on many journeys, with dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own countrymen, dangers from ethnic groups, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers in the sea, and dangers from fake brothers.
