But they would not listen. Instead they hardened their neck like the neck of their ancestors who didn’t believe in YHWH their God.


Now y’all must not be stiff-necked like y’all’s ancestors were, but submit your* hand to YHWH. Y’all are to enter into ʜɪꜱ sanctuary, which ʜᴇ has sanctified forever, and serve YHWH y’all’s God, so that ʜɪꜱ burning anger may turn away from y’all.


but they mocked the messengers of God, despised ʜɪꜱ words, and scoffed at ʜɪꜱ prophets, until YHWH’s wrath arose against ʜɪꜱ people, until there was no remedy.


and testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law. Yet they were arrogant, and didn’t listen to your commandments, but sinned against your ordinances (which if a man does, he will live in them), turned their backs, stiffened their neck, and would not hear.


Y’all must not harden your* hearts, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,


Blessed is the one who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.


Hᴇ will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, ʜᴇ will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, ʜᴇ will be a trap and a snare.


“YHWH Almighty, the God of Israel says, ‘Look! I am going to bring on this city and on all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.’”

Y’all are to leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have y’all come out with swords and clubs to capture me like a robber? Every day I sat in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.


“Hᴇ has blinded their eyes and ʜᴇ hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”


and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year, they met together with the church and taught a considerable number of people. The disciples were first called ‘Christians’ in Antioch.


But the people of the city were divided. Some sided with the Jews and others with the apostles.


Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, including a large group of the God-fearing Greeks, and not a small number of the prominent women.


About that time there was a great disturbance concerning the Way.


But when Paul wanted to go to the crowd, the disciples wouldn’t let him.


So y’all must be on guard! Remember that for a period of three years I never stopped warning each of y’all night and day with tears.


I persecuted this Way to the death, putting both men and women in chains and taking them to prison,


unless it is for the one thing that I shouted among them, ‘I am being judged by y’all today concerning the resurrection of the dead!’”


But we would like to hear about your views from you, for we know that people everywhere are speaking against this sect.”


“Y’all stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! Y’all are always resisting the Holy Spirit, just like your* ancestors did.


and requested letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them to Jerusalem bound in chains.


What then? What Israel seeks for, it didn’t obtain, but the elect obtained it, and the rest were hardened.

But y’all are to exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”, so that none of y’all may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.


But these people are like animals who cannot reason but act only on instinct, born to be captured and destroyed. They blaspheme in matters about which they are ignorant, and in their destruction, they will be destroyed,


Many will follow their lifestyle of sensuality, and because of this, the way of the truth will be criticized.


But these people say evil about things they don’t understand, and the things they do understand—as irrational animals do—will destroy them.
