In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin is to be circumcised.


Moses gave y’all circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath y’all circumcise a boy.


In those days, Peter stood up among the siblings (a gathering of about one hundred twenty people), and said,


Then it seemed good to the apostles, the elders, and the whole church to select men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, who were leading men among the siblings.


They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, To those in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia, who are siblings among the ethnic groups: Greetings.


Because we have heard that some went out from among us without our authorization and have troubled y’all with words that unsettled y’all’s souls,


So the church sent them on their way, and as they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, they told the stories of how the conversion of ethnic groups, bringing great joy to all the siblings.


Judas and Silas, who were also prophets, encouraged and strengthened the siblings with a lengthy message.


But some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”


When they heard this, they glorified God. They said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and they are all zealous for the law.


For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”


Then after fourteen years, I went up to Jerusalem again with Barnabas, taking along Titus also.


For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.


Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh try to compel y’all to be circumcised, but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.


Therefore let no one judge y’all by what you eat or drink, or concerning a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day.


Y’all see to it that no one takes y’all captive through philosophy and vain deceit, according to human tradition and the elemental spirits of the world rather than after Christ.
