He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, killed them, and boiled their meat with the oxen’s equipment, and gave to the people; and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.


When he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.


But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of YHWH here, that we may inquire of YHWH by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered, “Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”


Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain.


It not so among y’all. Instead whoever desires to become great among y’all must be y’all’s deacon,


When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John (also called Mark), where many had gathered and were praying.


Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their deacon-work, taking with them John, also called Mark.


From Perga, they journeyed on to Antioch of Pisidia. On the Sabbath day, they went into the synagogue and sat down.


Then Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to y’all first. Since indeed y’all reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we are now turning to the ethnic groups.


It happened again in Iconium, where they entered the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed.


Barnabas wanted to take John (also called Mark) with them too,


So in the synagogue he reasoned with the Jews and those who feared God, as well as in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.


Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, attempting to persuade Jews and Greeks.


He sent two of his assistants, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, and he stayed in Asia for a while.


Then the whole city was filled with the uproar, and they rushed into the theater with one mind, dragging along Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia.


Paul entered the synagogue and spoke out boldly there for three months, discussing and persuading them about the Empire of God.


Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed that Jesus is the Son of God.


Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets y’all, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (y’all received instructions about him: if he comes to y’all, receive him);


Only Luke is with me. You must take Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me in deacon-work.
