When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.


David slept with his fathers, and was buried in David’s city.


In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. YHWH your God said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel and a leader over my people Israel.’”


It will happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your offspring after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.


David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness for all his people.


He died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.

if I have said to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ and ‘My sister,’


They lie down alike in the dust. The worm covers them.


They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death will be their shepherd. The upright will have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty will decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.


that they should live on forever, that they should not see corruption.


The man who received the five talents immediately went and traded with others, and gained another five talents.

And Saul approved of his killing. On that day, a great persecution arose against the church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.


Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.


Then he appeared to over five hundred siblings at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep.


Now, siblings, we don’t want y’all to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep, so that y’all do not grieve like those who have no hope.
