When evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath),


Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the council, a good and righteous man


Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed him in a tomb that was cut into stone, where no one had ever been laid.


He said to them, “These are my words that I told y’all while I was still with y’all, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”


After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had now been finished in fulfillment of Scripture, said, “I am thirsty!”


When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.


For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers didn’t know him, and by condemning him they fulfilled the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.


This man was handed over by the marked out plan and foreknowledge of God, and y’all executed him using lawless people to nail him to the cross.


And so, having received help from God to this day, I stand and testify to both small and great, saying nothing other than what the prophets and Moses said would happen:


to do whatever your hand and your will predestined to happen.


The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus, whom y’all killed by hanging him on a tree.


that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
