That night, the Angel of YHWH went out and struck one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, there were all the dead bodies!


YHWH sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, the leaders, and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, those who came out of his own body killed him there with the sword.


After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh,


My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust. My skin closes up, and breaks out afresh.


Not to us, YHWH, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your lovingkindness, and for your truth’s sake.


Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what YHWH, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.


For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am YHWH.

But an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison during the night, brought them out, and said,


He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes a seat in God’s temple, setting himself up as God.


About ten days later, YHWH struck Nabal, so that he died.
