They said, “Cornelius the centurion, a righteous man who fears God, and who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish ethnic group, was divinely directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and listen to what you say.”


The Spirit told me to go with them without hesitation. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we went into the man’s house.


He will speak a message to you through which you will be saved, you and all your house.’


When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me out of Herod’s hand and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”


In Joppa, there was a disciple named Tabitha (Greek translation: Dorcas). She was always doing good works and acts of compassion.


Lydda was near Joppa, so when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to urge him, “Don’t delay in coming to us.”


This became known all throughout Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.


Peter stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.


Aren’t they all spirits of deacon-work, sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
