Jerusalem, I have set watchmen on your walls. They will never be silent day nor night. There is no rest for y’all who remind YHWH.


I set watchmen over y’all, saying, ‘Y’all must listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’


“Son of humanity, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me.


“Son of humanity, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, ‘When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman,


“So you, son of humanity, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and give them warnings from me.


The man who received the five talents immediately went and traded with others, and gained another five talents.


“It is like a man traveling to another country, having left his house and given authority to his slaves, each assigned their work, and commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.


What I tell y’all, I tell everyone: Y’all stay alert!”


Blessed are those servants whose master finds alert when he comes. Truly I tell y’all that he will dress himself to serve, have them recline at the table, and will come and serve them.


On the next day, we departed and came to Caesarea, where we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the seven, and stayed with him.


in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.


So Christ gave some to be apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers


for the equipping of the saints for works of deacon-work, to build up of the body of Christ,


I was made its deacon according to the economy of God which was given to me for y’all the fullness of the word of God,


Y’all tell Archippus, “Take heed to the deacon-work which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it.”


So then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.


Don’t let anyone despise your youth, but be an example to those who believe, in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.


Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, so that your progress may be revealed to all.


So don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. Instead, join with me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,


Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, so that they too may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.


Join with me in suffering like an excellent soldier of Christ Jesus.


But the Lord stood by me and empowered me, so that through me the message might be fully accomplished, and all the ethnic groups would hear it. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.


Y’all should trust your* leaders and submit to them, because they keep watch over y’all’s souls as those who will give account. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for that would not be beneficial for y’all.


Therefore, tightening a belt around y’all’s thoughts and being fully sober-minded, set your* hope fully on the grace that will be brought to y’all at the revelation of Jesus Christ.


You must wake up and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works completed in the presence of my God.
