Uriah said to David, “The ark, Israel, and Judah, are staying in tents; and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open field. Should I then go into my house to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing!”


YHWH sent Nathan to David. He came to him, and said to him, “There were two men in one city: the one rich, and the other poor.


Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.


They brought in the ark of YHWH, and set it in its place in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it. David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before YHWH.


Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision.


Then, while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in.


But Zadok the priest, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and the mighty men who belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.


Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister, the king’s friend;


“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of YHWH, the God of Israel.

But David had brought the ark of God up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.


He set the Levites in the house of YHWH with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from YHWH by his prophets.


Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

until I find out a place for YHWH, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”


He brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the covenant, as YHWH commanded Moses.


“Is it a time for y’all to dwell in y’all’s paneled houses, while this house lies waste?


His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”


who found favor in God’s sight and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.
