For I have chosen him so that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of YHWH, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that YHWH may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.”


David danced before YHWH with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod.


As the ark of YHWH came into David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out through the window. When saw King David leaping and dancing before YHWH, she despised him in her heart.


When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of YHWH Almighty.


He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.


All the people departed, each man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.


They are children of fools, yes, children of wicked men. They were flogged out of the land.


I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.


I will exalt you, YHWH, for you have raised me up, and have not let my enemies rejoice over me.


Don’t be too wicked, neither be foolish. Why should you die before your time?

Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Malchishua; and the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the firstborn Merab, and the name of the younger Michal.


Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David, and they told Saul, and it pleased him.
