17 He said, “Be it far from me, YHWH, that I should do this! Isn’t this the blood of the men who risked their lives to go?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

But y’all must not eat flesh with its life (that is, its blood).


Joab answered, “Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.


Naboth said to Ahab, “May YHWH forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”


and said, “My God forbid that I should do this! Should I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.


Hᴇ will rescue their lives from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in ʜɪꜱ sight.

YHWH forbid that I should stretch out my hand against YHWH’s anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let’s go.”
