David was told what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.


Now Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. Ish-bosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”


When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his body, fasted, lay in sackcloth, and went about despondently.


Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, YHWH our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.


You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you, and all your hordes, and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort and to the animals of the field to be devoured.


Let’s acknowledge YHWH. Let’s press on to know YHWH. As surely as the sun rises, YHWH will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.”


How the animals groan! The herds of livestock are perplexed, because they have no pasture. Yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.


“Y’all be glad then, children of Zion, and y’all rejoice in YHWH, your* God; for ʜᴇ gives you the early rain in just measure, and ʜᴇ causes the rain to come down for y’all, the early rain and the latter rain, as before.


Y’all should ask YHWH for rain in the spring time, YHWH who makes storm clouds, and ʜᴇ will give rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.


then I will give the rain for y’all’s land in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and fresh oil.


She is to remove the clothing of her captivity, live in your house, and mourn her father and her mother a full month. After that you may go in to her and become her husband, and she will be your wife.


If someone has committed a sin worthy of death and is executed, and you hang them on a tree,


the body must not remain all night on the tree, but you must bury-bury it the same day. For the one who is hanged is cursed by God. Do not defile your land that YHWH your God is giving you for an inheritance.


The Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the animals of the field.”


Today, YHWH will deliver you into my hand. I will strike you down and remove your head. Today, I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines to the birds of the sky and to the wild animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,
