Abraham came near, and said, “Will you consume the righteous with the wicked?


For the king will hear, to deliver his servant out of the hand of the man who would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.


Now therefore y’all are to send word quickly to tell David, saying, ‘Don’t lodge tonight at the fords of the wilderness. Instead cross-cross over, or else the king will be swallowed up along with all the people who are with him.’”


Then she spoke, saying, “They used to say in old times, ‘They will ask-ask counsel at Abel,’ and that settled a matter.


Joab answered, “Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.


David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for y’all? How should I make atonement, so that y’all will bless YHWH’s inheritance?”


For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord YHWH.”

The Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob without pity. He has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah. He has brought them down to the ground. He has profaned the kingdom and its princes.


The Lord has become as an enemy. He has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces. He has destroyed his strongholds. He has multiplied mourning and lamentation in the daughter of Judah.


The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households, all of Korah’s men, and all their goods.


and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.


But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”


For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we don’t want to be unclothed, but to be clothed so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.


When you draw near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it.


For YHWH’s portion is ʜɪꜱ people. Jacob is the lot of ʜɪꜱ inheritance.


for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.


The rulers ceased in Israel. They ceased until I, Deborah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Israel.


Then Samuel took the vial of oil and poured it on his head, then kissed him and said, “Hasn’t YHWH anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?


Now therefore, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is so that YHWH has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, they are cursed before YHWH; for they have driven me out today that I shouldn’t cling to YHWH’s inheritance, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods!’
