If you afflict my daughters, or if you take wives in addition to my daughters, although no man is with us, know that God is witness between me and you.”


The king said, “Whoever says anything to you, bring him to me, and he will not bother you any more.”


Then the woman said, “Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king.” He said, “Say on.”


The king said to Joab, “Very well, I have granted this request. Go therefore, and bring the young man Absalom back.”


Solomon said, “If he shows himself a worthy man, not a hair of his will fall to the earth; but if wickedness is found in him, he will die.”


and you will swear, ‘As YHWH lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations will bless themselves in him, and they will glory in him.”


The blood avenger is to put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he must put him to death.


or in hostility struck him with his hand, so that he died, he who struck him must be put to death-death. He is a murderer. The blood avenger must put the murderer to death when he meets him.


and the blood avenger finds him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the blood avenger kills the killer, he will not be guilty of blood,


But the very hairs of y’all’s head are all numbered.


So now I encourage y’all to take some food. It’s for your* survival, because not one of y’all will lose a hair from your* head.”


The people said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As YHWH lives, there must not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he has worked with God today!” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.


Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, because we have both sworn in the name of YHWH, saying, ‘YHWH is between me and you, and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.’” Then David got up and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.


Saul swore to her by YHWH, saying, “As YHWH lives, no punishment will happen to you for this thing.”
