Then his servants said to him, “What is this that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive, but when the child was dead, you rose up and ate bread.”


“Please YHWH, remember how I have walked before you in truth and with a whole heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


“Go, and tell Hezekiah, ‘YHWH, the God of your father David, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Look, I will add fifteen years to your life.


Y’all must sanctify a fast. Y’all must call a solemn assembly. Y’all gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of YHWH, your* God, and cry to YHWH.


Who knows? Hᴇ may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to YHWH, y’all’s God.


Y’all are to hate evil and love good, and y’all must establish justice in the courts. It may be that YHWH, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”


So the captain came to him, and said, “How are you asleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe your god will notice us so that we won’t perish.”
