He said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you must help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.


but if he says, ‘I have no delight in you,’ then here I am. Let him do to me as seems good to him.”


Be courageous, and let’s be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. May YHWH do that which seems good to him.”


“Y’all are to be strong and courageous. Y’all must not be afraid or dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor for all the horde who is with him, for there is a greater one with us than with him.


After I looked, I got up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Y’all must not be afraid of them! Y’all must remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for y’all’s brothers, sons, daughters, wives, and houses.”


and they all conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem, and to cause confusion among us.


“You go and gather together all the Jews who are present in Susa, and y’all fast for me. Y’all must not eat nor drink three days, night or day. I and my maidens will also fast the same way. Then I will go in to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”


He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. YHWH gave, and YHWH has taken away. Blessed be the name of YHWH.”


Is the land fertile or poor? Are there trees or not? Y’all are to be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.


Y’all must stay alert and must stand firm in the faith! Y’all must be courageous and strong!

David said to Saul, “Let no one’s heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”


Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said, “It is YHWH. Let him do what seems good to him.”


Y’all must strong and behave like men, Philistines! Otherwise y’all will be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been to y’all. Be men and fight!”
