Blessed is YHWH your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because YHWH loved Israel forever, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”


Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘YHWH, the God of Israel, says: “Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,


“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,


Anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.


Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude.


Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘YHWH says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”


When he arrived, the captains of the army were sitting there. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”


Now the destruction of Ahaziah was of God, in that he went to Joram; for when he had come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom YHWH had anointed to cut off Ahab’s house.


“I have installed my King on Zion, my holy mountain.”


For not from the east, or the west, or the south, comes exaltation.


YHWH says to Cyrus ʜɪꜱ anointed, whose right hand I have hold in order to subdue nations before him, strip kings of their armor, and open-open the doors before him, and the gates will not be shut:


Hᴇ changes the times and the seasons. Hᴇ removes kings and sets up kings. Hᴇ gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding.


“‘The sentence is by the decree of the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowest of men.’


You will be driven away from humankind, and your dwelling will be with the animals of the field. You will be made to eat grass like oxen. Seven times will pass by you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of humankind, and gives it to whomever ʜᴇ will.’”


Then Samuel took the vial of oil and poured it on his head, then kissed him and said, “Hasn’t YHWH anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?


YHWH makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.


He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are YHWH’s. He has set the world on them.
