Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the Tent, and anointed Solomon. They blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”


YHWH’s hand was upon Elijah, and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.


Anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.


A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the word of YHWH, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.


YHWH said, ‘Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One said one thing, and another said another.


He said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”


When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.


The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that YHWH will take away your master from over you today?” He said, “Yes, I know it. Y’all need to be quiet.”


The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came up to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that YHWH will take away your master from you today?” He answered, “Yes, I know it. Y’all need to be quiet.”


Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood opposite them at a distance; and they both stood by the Jordan.


Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared YHWH. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”


Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the boy’s face.”


So the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.


The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place, because the band of men who came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the oldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.


He also followed their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.


“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.


a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, and she poured it on his head while he was reclining at the table.


“Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances which I teach y’all to do, so that y’all may live and go in and take possession of the land which YHWH, the God of y’all’s ancestors, is giving y’all.


Y’all’s eyes have seen what YHWH did because of Baal Peor, for YHWH your God destroyed everyone who followed Baal Peor from among you.


Therefore, tightening a belt around y’all’s thoughts and being fully sober-minded, set your* hope fully on the grace that will be brought to y’all at the revelation of Jesus Christ.


Then Samuel took the vial of oil and poured it on his head, then kissed him and said, “Hasn’t YHWH anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?


YHWH said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”
