The watchman saw another man running; and the watchman called to the gatekeeper and said, “Look! A man running alone!” The king said, “He is also bringing good news.”


Then the gatekeepers called out and told it to the king’s household within.


Then they said to one another, “We aren’t doing what is right. Today is a day of good news, and we are keeping silent. If we wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us. So y’all come and let’s go and tell the king’s household.”


and with them their brothers of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.


and Obed-Edom with their sixty-eight relatives; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers;


He set the gatekeepers at the gates of the house of YHWH, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.


Unless YHWH builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless YHWH watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.
