The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;


Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As YHWH, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there will not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”


Elijah said, “As YHWH Almighty lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”


Elisha said, “As YHWH Almighty lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.


But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Look, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, by not receiving from his hands what he brought. As YHWH lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”


He said to him, “Didn’t my heart go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?


Then Daniel answered before the king, “Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.


Y’all heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely y’all have received, so freely y’all should give.


“All things are permissible for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.


Look, I am ready to come to y’all a third time, and I will not be a burden, since I don’t want y’all’s possessions, but y’all. For children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
