Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,


In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, released Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison,


Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.


At the return of the year, King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, with the valuable vessels of the house of YHWH, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.


There was a certain Jew in the citadel of Susa whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite,


who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captives who had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.


Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.


You are to say to the king and to the queen mother, “Y’all must take a humble seat. for y’all’s crowns of majestic beauty have come down from your* heads.


After Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had deported Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the artisans and smiths from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, YHWH showed me two baskets of figs that were set before the temple of YHWH.


The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),


which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn’t take when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem—


Therefore YHWH says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: “He will have no one to sit on David’s throne. His dead body will be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.


Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.


Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, came into Jerusalem.


This is the number of the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year, 3,023 Jews;


In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty-fifth day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and released him from prison.


In the fifth of the month, which was the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity,


“Say now to the rebellious house, ‘Don’t y’all know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Look, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon.


He cropped off the topmost of its young twigs, and carried it to a land of traffic. He planted it in a city of merchants.


“Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,


Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.


YHWH will bring you, and your king whom you will set over yourselves, to a nation that you have not known, you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods of wood and stone.
