“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;


because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”


He did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom YHWH cast out before the children of Israel.


He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which YHWH said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever;


Nevertheless he held to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. He didn’t depart from them.


Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than did the nations whom YHWH destroyed before the children of Israel.


Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”


There are six things which YHWH hates; yes, seven which are disgusting to ʜɪᴍ:


arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,


I will cause them to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.


Because they have forsaken me, and have defiled this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods that they didn’t know—they, their ancestors, and the kings of Judah—and have filled this place with the blood of innocents,


Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You didn’t find them breaking in, but it is because of all these things.


For this city has been to me a provocation of my anger and of my wrath from the day that they built it even to this day, so that I should remove it from before my face,


if y’all don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and y’all don’t walk after other gods to your* own disaster,


“You, son of humanity, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.


You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.


Righteous men will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.


Then he said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion; for they say, ‘YHWH has forsaken the land, and YHWH doesn’t see.’


“‘Y’all must not pollute the land where y’all live, for blood pollutes the land. No atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of the person who shed it.


The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.”


“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I longed to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own chicks under her wings, but y’all refused!


They were stoned, sawn apart, tempted, and slain by the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins, being destitute, afflicted, and mistreated
