Jacob tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days.


Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, for God took him.


Now Elisha became sick with the illness from which he died. Joash the king of Israel came down and wept over him and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”


He also took up Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.


His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean?’”


The king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, “My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?”


Hᴇ will even deliver one who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”


By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.


Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you know?


Wisdom is a strength to the wise person more than ten rulers who are in a city.


Hezekiah prayed to YHWH, saying,


Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “YHWH, the God of Israel says, ‘Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,


It may be YHWH your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which YHWH your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”


So then, after the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.


When the angels left them and went back to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened and that the Lord has made known to us.”


While he was blessing them, he left them and was carried up into heaven.


No one has ascended into heaven but the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Humanity.


After he had said this, he was taken up while they were watching, and a cloud took him out of their sight.


and said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. It is necessary for you to appear before Caesar. See, God has graciously given you all those who sail with you.’


Devout men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.


For in this state we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,


For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we don’t want to be unclothed, but to be clothed so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.


Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to humans.”


I heard a loud sound from heaven saying to them, “Y’all come up here!” They went up into heaven in a cloud while their enemies watched them.


Micah said to him, “Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver per year, a suit of clothing, and your food.” So the Levite went in.
