Whoever sheds human blood, by humans will their blood be shed, for in the image of God God made humankind.


Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Y’all bring her out between the ranks and kill anyone who follows her with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t let her be slain in the house of YHWH.”


So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house, and they killed her there.


Above the horse gate, the priests made repairs, everyone across from his own house.


The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, will be holy to YHWH. It will not be plucked up or thrown down any more forever.”


“‘Anyone strikes a human mortally must be executed-executed.


For in the way y’all judge, y’all will be judged; and with the measure y’all use, it will be measured to y’all.


For judgment is without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.


Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their big toes cut off, scavenged under my table. As I have done, so God has done to me.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
