I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up YHWH’s inheritance?”


that they may offer sacrifices of pleasant aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and of his sons.


Lord, I beg you, let your ear be attentive now to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name; and please prosper your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” Now I was cup bearer to the king.


God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.


My son, fear YHWH and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious,


Y’all are to seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent y’all into exile. Y’all are to pray to YHWH on its behalf, because in its prosperity y’all will have prosperity.”


They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commands and decrees of the Lord.


Now, there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.


They said, “Cornelius the centurion, a righteous man who fears God, and who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish ethnic group, was divinely directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and listen to what you say.”


So I always strive to maintain a clear conscience before God and humans.


If possible, as far as it depends on y’all, be at peace with all humans.


Finally, siblings, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is virtuous or praiseworthy, y’all should contemplate such things.


to seek to lead a quiet life, to manage your own affairs, and to work with your* own hands, just as we instructed y’all,


Y’all must pursue peace with all people, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord,
