Now this is our boast: the testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward y’all, with godly integrity and sincerity, not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God.


if indeed y’all have heard of the administration of the grace of God that was given to me for y’all,


By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the ethnic groups, believed on in the world, and taken up in glory.


But refuse profane myths and old wives’ tales. Rather discipline yourself toward godliness.


But you, as a human of God, flee from these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.


Timothy, you must guard what has been entrusted to you, turning away from empty chitchat and opposing what is falsely called “knowledge,”


Remind them of these things and charge in the presence of the Lord not to argue about words which are of no value and lead to ruin in those who hear.


You must flee youthful desires, and instead pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.


But reject foolish and uninformed speculations, knowing that they generate quarrels.


Indeed, they will turn their ears away from the truth, and turn themselves toward myths.


Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness,


not paying attention to Jewish myths and human commandments from those who turn away from the truth.


But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, infighting, and disputes about the Law, because they are unprofitable and useless.


Y’all must not be carried away by various strange teachings. It is beautiful for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which do not benefit those who observe them.


For we didn’t follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to y’all the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
