The children struggled together within her. She said, “If it is like this, why do I live?” She went to inquire of YHWH.


When David rose up in the morning, the word of YHWH came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,


YHWH warned to Israel and to Judah through every prophet and every seer, saying, “Y’all must turn from your* evil ways, and y’all must keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your* fathers, and that I sent to y’all through my servants the prophets.”


YHWH spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,


All that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brothers.


Now the acts of David the king, first and last, are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,


All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the thresholds were two hundred twelve. These were listed by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.


Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

For YHWH has poured out on y’all a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed y’all’s eyes, the prophets; and he has covered y’all’s heads, the seers.


They tell the seers, “Y’all stop seeing visions!” and the prophets, “Y’all stop prophesying what is right to us. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy delusions.


Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there,


If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?


After the death of Joshua, the children of Israel asked of YHWH, saying, “Who should go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against them?”


They said to him, “Please ask counsel of God, so we may know whether our way will be prosperous.”


Then Saul said to his servant, “Well said. Come! Let’s go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was.
