The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.


The Egyptians will know that I am YHWH when I stretch out my hand on Egypt, and bring the children of Israel out from among them.”


For this time I will send all my plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people; that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.


They have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophecy. They hold power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they want.


The Philistines were afraid, for they said, “God has come into the camp.” They said, “Woe to us! For there has not been such a thing before.


Y’all must strong and behave like men, Philistines! Otherwise y’all will be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been to y’all. Be men and fight!”


When the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not stay with us, for ʜɪꜱ hand is severe on us and on Dagon our god.”
