11 See, my father! Look at the edge of your robe in my hand! I cut off the edge of your robe but didn’t kill you. So realize and see that there is neither evil nor disobedience in my hand. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt for my life to take it.

David said to him, “Why were you not afraid to reach out your hand to destroy YHWH’s anointed?”


His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean?’”


If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me.


Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.


An evil speaker won’t be established in the earth. Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.


For without cause they have hidden their net in a pit for me. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.


Because look, they set an ambush for my soul. Powerful men are against me, not for my disobedience, nor for my sin, YHWH.


man an enemy pursue my soul, and overtake me may he trample my life down to the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.


A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Y’all are to look and find all the places where he hides. Y’all come back when you* are certain, and I will go with y’all. If he is in the land, I will search for him among all the thousands of Judah.”


Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For YHWH will make-make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights YHWH’s battles. Evil will not be found in you all your days.


He said, “Why does my lord pursue his servant? For what have I done? What evil is in my hand?


Now therefore, don’t let my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of YHWH; for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.”


YHWH will render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; because YHWH delivered you into my hand today, and I wouldn’t stretch out my hand against YHWH’s anointed.
