They conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of YHWH.


Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.


“You are to make tunics for Aaron’s sons. You are to make sashes for them. You are to make headbands for them, for glory and for beauty.


Don’t lay in wait, O wicked one, against the dwelling of the righteous. Don’t destroy their resting place;


Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment, because he is intent in his pursuit of idols.


They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.


For the statutes of Omri and all the works of Ahab’s house are observed. Y’all walk in their counsels, that I may bring you to ruin, and your inhabitants to derision. Y’all will bear the reproach of the nations.”


Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.


But Samuel ministered before YHWH, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.


Didn’t I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? Didn’t I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?


It will happen that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and will say, “Please put me into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”
