Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, fell on his face, and showed respect. David said, “Mephibosheth?” He answered, “Here is your servant!”


“I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name.


Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were in Nob; and they all came to the king.


Saul said to him, “Why have y’all conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?”


Saul said to his servants who stood around him, “Listen, y’all Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of y’all fields and vineyards? Will he make all y’all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds?
