Then David the king went in and sat before YHWH. He said, “Who am I, Lord YHWH, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?

Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

Then I said, “Alas, Lord YHWH! Look, I don’t know how to speak since I am only a youth.”


Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes that you would notice me, a foreigner?”


Saul’s servants spoke those words in the ears of David. David said, “Does it seem to y’all a small matter to be the king’s son-in-law, since I am a poor man and little known?”


Saul answered, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”
