Then the people asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.


For YHWH’s portion is ʜɪꜱ people. Jacob is the lot of ʜɪꜱ inheritance.


Y’all greet all the siblings with a holy kiss.


For it was fitting for ʜɪᴍ, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.


Now when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Samuel said to Saul, “YHWH sent me to anoint you to be king over his people, over Israel. Now therefore listen to the voice of YHWH’s words.


Samuel said, “Though you were little in your own sight, weren’t you made the head of the tribes of Israel? YHWH anointed you king over Israel;


YHWH said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”


Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the middle of his brothers. Then the Spirit of YHWH came mightily on David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.


Those who strive with YHWH will be shattered. Hᴇ will thunder against them in the sky. “YHWH will judge the ends of the earth. Hᴇ will give strength to ʜɪꜱ king, and exalt the horn of ʜɪꜱ anointed.”


He said to his men, “YHWH forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, YHWH’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, since he is YHWH’s anointed.”


YHWH forbid that I should stretch out my hand against YHWH’s anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let’s go.”


David said to Abishai, “Don’t destroy him, for who can stretch out his hand against YHWH’s anointed, and be guiltless?”


But the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel, and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us,


Now therefore, listen to their voice. However, you must warn-warn them and show them the way of the king who will reign over them.”


“Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you are to anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has come to me.”


As they were going down at the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.” He went ahead, then Samuel said, “But stand still first, that I may cause you to hear God’s message.”
